Janet Moeller-Abercrombie, creator of the ExpatEducator blog, is an American by birth, who has worked in the US, Hong Kong and Australia. Currently, she works as Head of Junior School in a school outside of Melbourne. Her blog has been viewed more than 40,000 times and has gained hundreds of followers.
Barry Mernin, a 23-year veteran elementary educator, is creator of the ExpatTeacherMan blog, followed by more than 600 people. He has spent the past ten years teaching in Singapore, Japan and Hong Kong. His professional mission statement is: “I will provide a wholesome and upbeat environment for any and all students to succeed. I will teach students to learn to be content. I will demand that students care for the world around them as well as themselves. I will remember what it is like to be a child.” Barry is also an ISS Alum and is featured in our Profiles section.
Chris Polley is a high school counselor at an international school in China. His website, Teaching Internationally, not only features a blog where he chronicles his adventures as an educator and traveler, but also features his e-Book, “How to Teach Internationally: Expand Your Teaching Options While Seeing the World.” Read more about this book in our Resource section.
ISS Alum Couple Brent & Cheryl Fullerton currently teach at Pasir Ridge International School, but are on their way to the Dostyk American International School. Brent’s blog, Jumping Aboard focuses on Adventure Based Learning (ABL) and implementing technology in the classroom. Brent is also 2nd Place winner of the 2013 ISS Multi-media presentation contest.
ISS Alum Couple Jeff Fessler & Jayme Young currently teach at the American International School in Bamako, Mali, and author the humorous, award-winning blog 2seetheglobe, which is sent out by their school Director to potential hires so they can “see what they are in for.”
