Mr. Roger Hove - President International Schools Services
Roger began his career in education as a math and physics teacher. After teaching in the U.S. and overseas for several years, Roger began his career in educational administration. His career in administration has involved working with American and international schools in Libya, Malaysia, Norway, and the United Arab Emirates. As an administrator he has held the positions of Business Manager, Principal and Superintendent. In recent years Roger also served as a Commissioner with the Secondary School Commission of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. Roger joined ISS in August 2005 as Vice President of School Management and Administration. He received his B.A. from Concordia College, Moorhead, MN, in Math and Physics and his M.A. in Educational Administration from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN.
Dr. Paul DeMinico - Vice President of Executive Searches
Paul received his doctorate from Vanderbilt University. He has served as a school head for 24 years at independent, international schools in Asia and Europe and at public schools in New Hampshire, USA. Paul has also served as a teacher and school principal. He has served as a senior visiting lecturer of education at Assumption University and Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, Thailand and has authored numerous articles on various topics in education published in international periodicals as well as in State and local newspapers. As a graduate of Harvard Business School’s Global Leadership Program, Paul has a particular interest in advancing the concept of “global-mindedness” among students from early childhood to Ph.D. candidates. He has successfully facilitated school head searches for governing boards and has engaged boards in seminars on various topics specific to their needs.
Ms. Laura Light - Director of Educational Staffing
Laura is a former teacher – one who has spent much of her career teaching overseas. After graduating from Clemson University in South Carolina, Laura accepted a position at the American School of Kuwait which was her initial introduction to life as an international, overseas educator. While having lived and worked in the United States, her professional life has revolved around the schools in which her current job now benefits. Laura also taught at the Carol Morgan School in the Dominican Republic, Escuela Americana in El Salvador, Singapore American School, Southbank International School in London, and at the United Nations International School in New York City. Working for ISS has been Laura’s “dream job” as she advances her significant and positive influence by staffing international schools around the world with the very best teachers in today’s market. Laura’s profound knowledge of and links to international schools has helped advance ISS as a world leader in service to such schools.
Dr. Harlan Lyso - ISS Consultant
Harlan most recently served as the Superintendent for Shanghai American School. Prior to China Harlan spent several years as the Head of School in Seoul, Korea. In his 35+ years as an overseas educator he has an extensive background in accreditation and Board professional development, leading to him being awarded International School Superintendent of the Year in 2008. He has served on regional boards for East Asia Regional Council of Overseas Schools (EARCOS), the Association for the Advancement of International Education (AAIE), and the Council of International Schools (CIS).
Mr. David Randall - ISS Vice President Caribbean and Executive Search Consultant
David has been an overseas educator for 40 years, serving as teacher, principal, finance director, and head of school. He earned his B.S. from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and holds an M. Ed. and M.P.A. from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. His experience encompasses 11 schools in East Asia, Southeast Asia, South Asia, South America, Africa, and the Middle East. His most recent position, prior to joining the Caribbean office, was as the interim Superintendent during the 2009-2010 start-up school year for the King Abdullah University of Science & Technology (KAUST) School. Prior to Saudi Arabia, David was the Interim Head of School at Western Academy Beijing as well as the Interim Head of the Graded School in Sao Paulo, Brazil. He has led schools in virtually every region of the world and brings a wealth of knowledge to not only the hiring process, but the nuances of transitioning a school in the midst of growth and development.
Mr. Kenneth Wiswell - ISS Consultant
Ken has been an educator since 1971. In the course of his career, he has served as a teacher, principal, school board member, and President of the NH Association of School Principals. He has successful teaching and administrative experience in both public and independent schools, serving as a teacher and administrator in the largest independent secondary school in the eastern United States for 20 years. In 1994, Ken was a finalist for the NH Teacher of the Year award. Ken’s passion is school redesign and renewal. He has successfully lead school and community efforts in transforming their schools from the traditional Carnegie Unit system to a competency-based assessment, grading and credit award system. Eager to stay closely attuned to the 21st Century classroom, he initiated and taught an annual course in contemporary ethical thought and social justice to juniors and seniors. He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in English from Springfield College and a Masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Antioch New England College. Ken has further sharpened his craft through his studies at the Harvard Principals Center and the Franklin Pierce Law School.
