What documents do I need for an Active ISS Membership?

Two (2) confidential supervisory references from an Assistant Principal, or above level administrator who has observed and evaluated you within the past seven (7) years.
Partner Statement (if applicable)
Note: You are required to provide a confidential reference from two supervisors from within your past seven years of experience.

I am a new graduate. What documents do I need?

Official copy of your transcripts from your university, up through your current semester (official copy of your transcript with degree awarded will be required upon graduation)
Confidential letter of recommendation from your university field advisor (on university letterhead).
Confidential letter of recommendation from your mentor teacher(s)/supervising teacher(s) with whom you did your student teaching

What else do I need for a comprehensive online profile?

Any additional confidential supervisory references from all educational positions within the past seven (7) years would be helpful
Personal Statement (downloadable form on Member Dashboard containing three specific questions)
Official transcripts of your highest degree earned
Copy of current certification/credential
These documents are not mandatory to create a file with ISS, but a successful candidate will have these ready for schools to view

While submission of these documents is optional, recruiters like to view them. They increase your opportunity to stand out as a candidate.

How does the Online Recommendation form work?

As you complete your online application, be prepared to include email addresses for the references you include (two minimum). These references will be contacted automatically by ISS and asked to complete an online form that will take them approximately 10 minutes to fill out. It is easy for them to do – and important for you to have in your file.

When uploading your documents, please do the following:

Upload in PDF format only. Please be aware there are
size limitations for your documents. Recruiters are less
likely to read a document that takes a long time to load.
You can add documents to your file at any time by
using the ‘Upload Additional Documents’ link located in
your Candidate Dashboard
A multi-page document should be uploaded as a single
document (i.e. a 3-page transcript should be a single
upload as well as a 2-page reference)
Multiple documents should not be in one upload
(i.e. uploading multiple university transcripts in one upload,
or several letters of recommendation)
Cover up your Social Security Number
Ensure that your documents are right side up
