Play On, Philly! is a music education program established in 2011 that serves the social and cultural needs of underserved Philadelphia youth. As a newly formed nonprofit with a clear mission, Play On, Philly! rapidly expanded. Like many nonprofit organizations, it does not have the resources or the volume of legal work to justify hiring full-time general counsel, but its board members cautioned that to succeed and sustain its growth, the organization should have designated legal counsel specializing in nonprofit law on call.
