The original intent of the WLI was to follow the Arabic pilot with a similar initiative in Mandarin Chinese. However, our team members in China requested that we precede Mandarin with English as an Additional Language (EAL), which is a more pressing and critical need for schools in the region. We have therefore postponed the development of the Mandarin Initiative, while launching a Pilot Program for EAL. Please read more about this exciting work at two Chinese “Catalyst Schools” here.
